Lisa I’m sorry this is so late. I haven’t stopped thinking about you, remembering both the great and the not so great times. When you love someone you can’t have one without the other. I remember how you were one of the only people who was there for me when I was too ill for anyone else to care for me. I remember how you never took the piss out of my craziness. I remember all the really thoughtful gifts you gave and made: the feather artwork, the Christmas Eve box, the aloe vera. The night we met those boys down on Brighton seafront. The trip to the London Transport Museum. The Sussex Partnership Awards. There are so many more. What I’m most grateful for is that there is a side of me that nobody but you ever understood or made space for. Thank you for that. I would love to carry on your amazing work as an expert by experience in mental health, and do you proud. Then hopefully the incredible love you have given me and others will become immortalised in lasting Positive Practice 🤞 We will all miss you. Wherever you are, you are still unique, selfless and beautiful. ❤️💚💜 🤗

You were a colleague, then a friend. You taught my son for 2 years. He has autism and you ‘got him’ So much so that you were the one he turned to when things got bad at home. You were there for him when he needed yo and then in turn for me. I will never forget that. I wish life had been easier for you Lisa, you had so much left to give. Dear Lisa’s family, so truly sorry for your loss. I hope I am sharing this memory in the right place. Lisa was always calm in a crisis, this is one that sticks in my mind of her bravery when one of the children got a pencil stuck up under their skin, against their ribs, and she comforted and calmed them for ages until ambulance arrived. I was working in the office and there was so much going on, but she never got flustered. The poor child was as white as a sheet. Their mum was extremely grateful for her kindness. I remember going and making her a cup of tea after. Another lighter memory is when they did X factor at school, Lisa was the judge Amanda Holden. She played the part so well, the children thought she really was Amanda Holden! Thinking of you all. Alison

I recall, as i'm sure many of us here from SGP, a few years back) During one of 2 "normal" school days, (end of), Lisa's Nursing skills came into full effect when a Parent, had a massive reaction to a Nut Allergy, collapsing to the floor in the top building corridor at 3pm as Lisa & I were passing, at the time when the children were just going home. Lisa's speedy actions & so calm, saved this parents life, along with the unborn child the parent was carrying too & cared for them both until the ambulance crew arrived to take over. I'll never forget that day Rest Now Lisa, Bless you, John Ali (School Office) also reminded us too of the following tragic event on a differnet day & time. (copied from FB), where a Child, got a pencil stuck up under their skin, against their ribs, and she comforted and calmed them for ages until ambulance arrived. I, (Ali) was working in the office and there was so much going on, but she never got flustered. The poor child was as white as a sheet. Lisa helped me a lot when I first started teaching. She was kind, helpful & defended me when I needed it. She gave me several motivational talks in those early days that stopped me from quitting. I will always be so grateful. She was a very talented teacher. Two of my fondest memories of Lisa: - Because I'd forget to do things, whenever Lisa needed me to do something at work, she'd write it on a post-it note and stick it on my forehead. - Two of us from school also once spent a really lovely day at Lisa's house, helping her build a whole load of flat pack furniture for her spare room & garden. We had so many laughs that day!

As a family friend from way back when, I am thinking back to a long time ago, remembering Lisa laughing and having fun on a long boat on the lochs of Scotland. I was there with Lisa, Clare, their dad and Lisa’s X hubbie. We had a great trip. Many laughs, many talks, many good memories. One of them being rowing out to find Nessy on a dingy. Fond memories. I will remember Lisa as fun loving, a great sister and a wonderful person. I will remember her laughing. You’ll be missed Lisa.

Lisa was such a creative person, she was full of ideas - always coming up with new things to make and up-cycle and projects to get involved in. Her creativity knew no bounds! She was very community minded, encouraging to others, friendly, kind and thoughtful. Lisa was colourful and energetic, with a definite cheeky streak! She will be greatly missed by the team at Gateway.

Lisa was an outstanding teacher. She was hard working and a perfectionist. She had a great sense of what she wanted for her class and what her children needed. She was intellectually capable and she was brilliant at finding solutions to problems that came about. Lisa was meticulous and well organised she always demonstrated incredible skill and creativity. When Lisa was first in hospital some years ago she became an amazing support to others who were unwell. She organised art / craft groups and brought her teaching & organisation skills to give focus and occupation to really vulnerable people. It helped her too. I was reassured by this because it gave her purpose and made her realise her own worth. I admired her greatly, her fortitude . We had many deep and thoughtful conversations where I got to see her humanity and passions. She was true to her beliefs and she overcame great barriers , she was funny, clever and will be greatly missed. She has been an inspiration to many adults and children. Remembering her fondly. xx

Lisa was my mentor when I first started teaching. She was an excellent teacher and offered me much support both with my career and the emotional stresses being new to teaching brings. She was knowledgeable, motivating and always kind. She had a wonderful sense of humour and I will remember her very fondly and always be grateful for all she taught me x x
